Plomosa Mountain

Not far from our camp, and visible from the highway, we had noticed some prominent arches at the top of the ridge.

Wandering Willy and I decided to ‘wander’ over for a closer look.P1301242

Like a couple of mountain goats, we scrambled up the ridge and were able to make it all the way up to the arches.

Back at camp, we told Al, from the Bayfield Bunch all about it.

Later, I decided to have a look at it from the air!  Check out my first aerial video!

Plomosa Mountain Arches

After earlier racing back into the camper to defend her turf from little Cora, Hailey was quickly becoming used to having a couple of dogs around.  But that didn’t stop her from fluffing up and hissing when they came close.CIMG7544

Here, Pheebs is letting Al know how glad she is to have become a member of the Bayfield Bunch!CIMG7547

As well as lots of historic mining evidence in the area, there are some signs of recent activity as wellP1301246P1301249P1301252

Even the spiders were getting into the theme.P1291215P1291217

Another day I went for a hike up a mountain off the end of Yellowbird Rd, leading out of Bouse.  I could see a shack or two up there and wanted to have a look.  All the facilities were now abandoned, but it looked to have been a television repeater system to provide coverage in the Bouse area.

  1. That whirlybird camera is pretty cool. You can always send it ahead to scout out your next site for parking spots.

  2. I just love seeing Hailey. I would never let our dogs hurt her Ivan so come on down. I actually think that they would be scared of her. lol. Meggie grew up with my cat FRANK and she would always take a wide path around him and well I am not sure about MAC but i would have him under control.
