(Getting updated after quite a few days without internet connection in the desert)
I turned off the southbound 101 onto eastbound 20 at Calpella. I had a look at Lake Mendocino on the way through, but did not want to be the ‘first’, so kept moving!
Later, I came across Cowboy Camp, which I thought appropriate, except that they had ‘no camping’ signs at Cowboy CAMP!?
Fortunately, Cache Creek appeared to have no such restriction!
So I set up the dish in time to watch Hockey night in Canada. And the Leafs actually won! But since my satellite dish had lost most of it’s programming, the only channel i could get the game on was – in Punjabi! So, listening carefully, I am proud to announce that I have now learned a few words in Punjabi, as follows: Kessel, Phaneuf, blue-line, and goal! Fortunately Don Cherry and all the commercials were in English as usual.
There were LOTS of motorbikes on the road the next morning, and every small town seemed to have some outdoor event going on and all the watering holes had bikes parked all around.
It seemed the center of the action though, was at the town of Esparto, where traffic was at a virtual gridlock.
And there were vintage cars on display as well.
Finally, southbound on the I-5, flowers were blooming in abundance.
How much to camp at Cache Creek? sure doesnt look crowded.
ReplyDeleteWe are on 1-10 just sailing thru Lordsburg, NM
cheers,
Kelly

Yes, lots of bikes on the roads here in the States. Being a biker myself I just can't get over all the bikers who don't wear helmets. Even the most basic common sense would tell someone to wear a helmet.
ReplyDeleteWe did the whole Apache Trail Loop but didn't continue north up towards Payson. Maybe next time....... AL.
